Western Maryland Health System Welcomes UPMC Vascular Surgeons to The Heart Institute

CUMBERLAND, MD, September 13, 2018 — Western Maryland Health System (WMHS) is pleased to welcome vascular surgeons from UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute’s Division of Vascular Surgery to The Heart Institute at WMHS. Rabih Chaer, MD, Eric Hager, MD, and Richard Redlinger, MD are three distinguished surgeons scheduled to practice at WMHS as a part of the clinical affiliation agreement between WMHS and UPMC, signed into effect February 8, 2018.

Rabih A. Chaer, MD, is a Board-Certified Vascular Surgeon who practices at the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute’s Division of Vascular Surgery in Pittsburgh. Dr. Chaer received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut Faculty of Medicine, Beirut, Lebanon. He also completed his residency at University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago and his fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City.

Eric Samuel Hager, MD, FACS is Board-Certified in Surgery and Vascular Surgery. He practices at the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute’s Division of Vascular Surgery, UPMC St. Margaret in Pittsburgh and UPMC Monroeville at Oxford in Monroeville, PA. Dr. Hager received his medical degree and residency from Thomas Jefferson University Medical College in Philadelphia. He also completed his fellowship at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh.

Richard Edward Redlinger, MD, is Board-Certified in Surgery and Vascular Surgery. He practices at the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute’s Division of Vascular Surgery, UPMC Passavant-McCandless in Pittsburgh and UPMC Jameson in New Castle, PA.  Dr, Redlinger received his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia.  He also completed his residency and fellowship from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA.

Dr. Chaer, Dr. Hager and Dr. Redlinger will see patients several days a month at Western Maryland Medical Arts Center located at 12502 Willowbrook Road, Cumberland.
