Ted A. Wolfe Grant

The Ted A. Wolfe Trust Grant Program was established through a bequest by Mr. Wolfe, an Allegany County native, with the stated purpose of supporting educational and/or medical needs of county individuals in need of financial assistance. The Western Maryland Health System Foundation, as a recipient of the Ted A. Wolfe Trust, offers this Grant Program in support and recognition of our many community partners, as we work together to create a healthier, stronger region.

In accordance with Mr. Wolfe’s stated wishes, grant funding may be used exclusively for beneficiaries who are:

  • Allegany County, MD residents
  • Individuals with a proven financial need
  • In need of educational and/or medical services

Employee, Family and Friends Auction

This annual summer event was launched in 2012 and has become popular beyond expectations. Dozens of valuable, fun and unique baskets—each presented with an attractive theme—are created and donated by departments across WMHS. Displayed alongside packages donated by local businesses, everything is auctioned by either highest bid or luckiest ticket. Since its inception, this engaging effort has raised over $30,000.

Scholarships are a great way to support local students while ensuring excellence in community healthcare. At Western Maryland Health System, we offer a variety of scholarships through the Foundation Scholarship Program.
