Ted A. Wolfe Grants to Aid Local Nonprofits
The Ted A. Wolfe Trust Grant Program was established through a bequest by Mr. Wolfe, an Allegany County native, with the stated purpose of supporting educational and/or medical needs of county individuals eligible for financial assistance. In support and recognition of our many community partners, the WMHS Foundation offers this grant program as a steward of the Ted A. Wolfe Trust to promote a healthier, stronger region. Applications are due by 5 pm on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, and selections will be announced by the end of January 2021.
Since 2013, the WMHS Foundation has awarded $645,000 in Ted A. Wolfe grants across the community to charitable and educational organizations.
In accordance with Mr. Wolfe’s stated wishes, grant funding may be used exclusively for beneficiaries who are:
- Allegany County, MD residents
- Individuals with a proven financial need
- In need of educational and/or medical services
Employee, Family and Friends Auction
This annual summer event was launched in 2012 and has become popular beyond expectations. Dozens of valuable, fun and unique baskets—each presented with an attractive theme—are created and donated by departments across UPMC Western Maryland. Displayed alongside packages donated by local businesses, everything is auctioned by either highest bid or luckiest ticket. Since its inception, this engaging effort has raised over $30,000.
