Services

UPMC Western Maryland operates two full-service diagnostic centers, as well as two laboratory-only locations. You lead a busy live and can’t always schedule an appointment during regular business hours, so several of our diagnostic locations offer extended weekday and Saturday hours. Although the main hospital campus is in Cumberland, Maryland, you can also visit locations in Grantsville and Frostburg for certain types of laboratory tests.

Diagnostic Services

Diagnostic Imaging

When you need to have diagnostic imaging testing, a CT scan, or x-rays taken, you can trust the quality and experience of our radiology services.

Mammography

A mammogram is recommended once every year for women over the age of 40. At UPMC Western Maryland, mammograms are by appointment only, but same-day appointments are available for urgent situations.

MRI

With the assistance of UPMC Western Maryland technologists, you can receive an MRI as comfortable as possible. MRIs are also frequently used to diagnose cancer and sports-related injuries.

PET/CT

We have combined the technology available with PET and CT into a single piece of equipment. Once you arrive for a PET/CT scan, a nurse will review your medical history along with reports from past exams.

Lab Services

We provide both inpatient and outpatient lab work that has been ordered by a physician. Our state-of-the-art lab departments perform a variety of tests and report all results back to your physician for review.

Diagnostic Cardiology

Our diagnostic services for cardiac disease include electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, stress tests, transesophageal echocardiography and cardiac catheterization.

Results

All results are sent to your provider for review and are available to you through our patient portal.
