WMHS Names New Board Member
Ron Nowaczyk, president of Frostburg State University, is the newest member of the WMHS Board of Directors.

"We are pleased to have Dr. Nowaczyk join our governing board, says Barry Ronan, WMHS President and CEO.  "Shortly after arriving in our community, he shared with me his interest in growing the health-related offerings at Frostburg State University.  I know his participation on our board is a great opportunity that will benefit both organizations.

Nowaczyk became the president at Frostburg State University in May 2016.  Before joining FSU, he served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Clarion University in northwestern Pennsylvania.

Nowaczyk has served in numerous positions in higher-education administration, including dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of New Haven, associate vice chancellor for economic and community development at East Carolina University (ECU), and chair of ECUs Department of Psychology.

He began his career in higher education as a faculty member at Clemson University, where he taught for 21 years.  Nowaczyk is a graduate of Northwestern University and earned his masters degree and doctorate, both in experimental psychology, from Miami University of Ohio.
