The Admittance Process:
To begin the process of admitting a patient to the WMHS Frostburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, please call Suzie Lindeman, Admissions Coordinator, at 301-689-5100.  You can also call the front desk at 301-689-1391.

For Private Paying Patients: 
If your patient wishes to be a private payer, they can be admitted from the hospital or directly from home.

Guidelines for Admittance to the FNRC:

For Skilled Care...

Skilled care is health care given when a patient needs skilled nursing or rehabilitation staff to manage, observe, and evaluate your care.  Examples of skilled care include intravenous injections and physical & occupational therapy.

To be considered for payment by Medicare one must… 

  • have a three night qualifying hospital stay within the past 30 days.  (Time you are being observed in a hospital before you are admitted doesn't count toward the 3-day qualifying inpatient hospital stay) 
  • be 65 years of age of older. (unless on disability and covered by Medicare)
Medicare can pay for up to 100 days of care. The first 20 days are paid completely by Medicare and then 
beginning on day 21 through day 100 a co-pay is required.  After a 60 day period a new 100 days is available.  No hospitalization can occur during this 60-day period.

For Intermediate Care…

Intermediate Care is care required to assist a person in all aspects of daily living, such as, bathing, dressing, mobility, eating and incontinence care, overseeing medications, etc. 

For intermediate care, a patient must be assessed to need assistance with at least one to two Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s):
1. Dressing
2. Bathing
3. Mobility
4. Incontinence
5. Feeding
