COVID Testing Information at UPMC Western Maryland
- COVID-19 testing is available at all four UPMC Western Maryland Urgent Care locations and the UPMC Emergency triage tent for patients who have symptoms of the virus, have been evaluated by the onsite provider and or have a provider order that testing is medically necessary.
- Those who should get tested are those who:
- Have symptoms of COVID-19, which can vary but most commonly include: fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue (feeling tired), sore throat, runny nose, body aches, headache and in some cases vomiting and diarrhea
- AND have had close contact (within 6 feet of an infected person for a total of 15 minutes or more) with someone with confirmed COVID-19
**Individuals who do not have a provider order, no known exposure to a confirmed COVID person and are asymptomatic – no symptoms need to utilize the free, drive-thru COVID-19 testing available at the Allegany County Fairgrounds on Mondays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday/Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.**
