WMHS Welcomes New Chief Medical Officer Dr. George Garrow

Please join us in welcoming George C. Garrow, M.D., to the Western Maryland Health System as our new Chief Medical Officer. 

Previously, Dr. Garrow was Chief Medical Officer at Sharon Regional Health System in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a position he held since 2007.  He also served as the Director of Medical Oncology at Sharon’s Cancer Care Center and Medical Director for its Hospice. 

A native of Uniontown, Dr. Garrow graduated from Penn State University’s Hershey Medical School.  He completed his internship and residency at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver and fellowships in medical oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.  Dr. Garrow is board-certified in medical oncology, internal medicine and palliative medicine. 

Dr. Garrow will be a great resource for our efforts to enhance quality and patient safety.  Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Garrow from our hospital family and the local community.
