Intensive Outpatient Program

Western Maryland Health System's Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a multidisciplinary program that provides assessment, individual and group therapy services for patients in acute crisis situations that do not require inpatient treatment, but require rapid access to care. The program is primarily a group therapy program, with adjunctive individual therapy and psychiatry services as needed. The IOP runs Monday through Friday 9:30AM - 12:30PM.

The IOP treatment is facilitated by Masters Level, Licensed Mental Health Professionals. The program provides high quality treatment in a group format that has three elements: Educational, Insight Oriented Therapy and Experiential. The focus is on building life skills that can enhance communication, improve cognitive functioning, facilitate improved coping strategies and promote stabilization.
