Whether you employ several employees or several hundred, the Western Maryland Health System’s Occupational Health Center can tailor a program to meet your company’s unique needs. A multitude of services are available and many services can be provided on-site, while others are available at one of our convenient locations:

• Hunt Club Medical Clinic

All sites are staffed with full-time physicians experienced in occupational health services. Certified breath alcohol technicians perform breath alcohol testing, and trained urine drug collectors perform urine drug collections following federal guidelines.

Occupational Health Services

Educational Programs: Certified instructors provide the following programs: Automatic External Defibrillator (AED); Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); First Aid; Blood Borne Pathogens

Employee Health Services: Employers may request evaluation of both job and non-job related illness or injury to determine an employee’s capacity to perform his/her job duties safely and effectively. An appropriate treatment plan and accommodation of work duties will be recommended.

Independent Medical Examiner - Dr. James Deren

Dr. James B. Deren is a physician with the Occupational Health Program at the Western Maryland Heath System and is a certified independent medical examiner. Independent medical examiners are physicians not otherwise involved in the care or treatment of a patient who conduct exams at the request of employers seeking to determine the health status of their employees. Deren was certified by the internationally recognized American Board of Independent Medical Examiners, which serves as the quality assurance organization for IME accreditation. He has been a member of the medical staff at WMHS since 1991 and is the medical review officer for the Occupational Health Program.
