Dr. James Kase Opens Practice Specializing in Thoracic Surgery

James B. Kase, Jr., M.D.

Cardiothoracic surgeon James B. Kase, Jr., M.D., has joined Dr. Mark Nelson at the WMHS Heart Institute, specializing in thoracic surgery. Most recently, Dr. Kase was part of a group practice in Kansas City, Missouri, where he performed cardiac, non-cardiac thoracic, and vascular surgery at North Kansas City Hospital for 13 years.

A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Kase did his undergraduate work at Bucknell University in Lewisburg and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He did his surgical internship and cardiothoracic fellowship at the Medical College of Pennsylvania Hospital and completed his residency in cardiothoracic surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Dr. Kase holds board certifications from the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is also a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Medical Association.

A member of the medical staff at both Sacred Heart and Memorial hospitals, Dr. Kase will see patients at his office at the Sacred Heart Medical Building, Suite 204, 902 Seton Drive in Cumberland. For an appointment, please call 301-723-6365.
