10,000th Cardiac Cath Performed at Health System

On April 2, 2003 cardiologist Dr. Baljeet Mahal (left) performed a cardiac catheterization procedure at the WMHS Heart Institute on Gloria Doll (seated, center), a resident of Cumberland. It turned out to be the 10,000th cardiac catheterization performed in Cumberland since the two hospitals both began doing the procedure in 1986. Dr. Mahal performed his first cardiac cath at Sacred Heart in June 1987. Pictured in the cardiac cath lab with Mrs. Doll are (from left) Dr. Mahal, Tim Blank, Michelle Graham and Calvin Tracy.
