Our own Kim Jackson (left) was recently honored as the 2014 Social Worker of the Year by the Western Maryland AHEC Social Work Caucus for Allegany and Garrett Counties.
Jackson is shown with Jen Glotfelty (right), Social Work Month chairman, who coordinated the annual celebration, which was held in March at the Western Correctional Institution (WCI) in Cumberland. There were a total of 60 social workers in attendance from a variety of local agencies.
Kim was one of nine area social workers nominated for the award, including fellow WMHS social workers Karl Glocker and Chrissy Condry from Outpatient Behavioral Health. Jeannie Seifarth from Education and Project Managment nominated Jackson for the award.
An employee for 34 years, Kim works as a medical social worker in Care Coordination and is assigned to the Outpatient Dialysis Unit. Kims nominators praised his professionalism, willingness to help others, and his commitment to problem solving. He has worked tirelessly from our patients in a wide variety of health setting during his tenure.
Congratulations to Kim and all of the Social Workers who were nominated for this award.
