| ABOUT THE LIBRARIES
The book collections in each library total approximately 1500 volumes. The subject areas include medical and nursing and allied health texts, as well as consumer health information. There are approximately 75 active journal subscriptions between the two libraries. The Braddock Library features resources on cardiology, oncology, and mental health. Memorial's Library features resources on Pediatrics, Women's Health, Orthopedics and Surgery. The libraries utilize the National Library of Medicine classification system for medical and nursing books; and the Library of Congress system for consumer health resources. Computers are available in each library for use by health professionals for medical related information. Literature searching tools include Medline (through PubMed), DOCLINE, and LOANSOME DOC. (See Library Services for details.) The libraries are open to anyone who is looking for health information. Health system employees may sign out material. The general public may use materials in the libraries and photocopy information they need. |
