Team Prizes
• $1,000 Grand Prize- Awarded to the team with the largest percentage weight loss at the end of the 13 week challenge.

• $25 Martins Gift Card- Awarded to each member of the team with the second largest percentage weight loss at the end of the 13 week challenge.

• $10 Martins Gift Card- Awarded to each member of the team with the third largest percentage weight loss at the end of the 13 week challenge.

Biggest Loser: $100 - Awarded to the individual with the largest percentage weight loss at the end of the challenge.

Progress Prizes:
$25 Martins gift card will be awarded to each member of the team making the most progress between September 13 to October 17 and between October 18 to November 14.

Teams must:

  • Consist of the same 3-5 members throughout the challenge.
  • Select a team name & identify a team captain. Members need to know the team name.
  • Have an official beginning weight recorded for all three to five team members by September 19, 2009. Individual weights will not be shared. Shoes may be removed for weigh in. There is no deduction for clothes.

Activity Bonus:

  • Since we want individuals to participate by eating smart and being active, we will deduct 3,4,or 5 bonus pounds respectively from teams of 3 recording 3,000 or more activity minutes in the month, teams of 4 recording 4,000 or more activity minutes in the month, and teams of 5 recording 5,000 or more activity minutes in the month. Activity minutes will be reported by each participant at weigh in.
  • Activity minutes must be for continuous movement of 15 minutes or more. 2000 steps on a pedometer is equivalent to 15 minutes.

Ranking & Resources:

  • Tips for success will be available at all of the weigh ins, as well as tracking cards to record your weight.
  • The monthly ranking and percentage of weight lost for all the teams will be posted at www.wmhs.com
  • A close out weight for each of the team members will be used to qualify for the prizes.  If a team member misses a weigh in, his/her beginning weight will be used.

Special Feature

The YMCA is offering the group fitness classes listed below for FREE to Win Big By Losing participants.  Every team member that participates in one or more classes will receive a one pound deduction for that weigh in period.  Just remember to get your card signed at class and to show us at weigh in.
