The Hand in Hand support group meets the third Wednesday of each month and is open to all cancer patients and their families. Participating in a group is a way to promote positive attitudes for the healing process and the cancer survivor experience. Guest speakers often volunteer their time to help incorporate alternative ways to deal with cancer. Popular topics have included, massage therapy, music and art therapy, yoga and the importance of using humor to cope. The on-going need to address issues of survivorship and quality of life is a focus of almost all people who have a cancer diagnosis. This group provides the opportunity to meet this need.
