Benefits Package

The Western Maryland Health System offers the following insurance benefits to eligible employees authorized to work 32 - 80 hours biweekly (includes flex hours).  Those benefits marked with an * are only offered to employees who are authorized/flex to work 60- 80 hours biweekly.  Benefits become effective on the first day of the second month following the employee's hire date into an eligible class.  The benefit plans are offered on an annual basis.

Other benefits offered by the Western Maryland Health System:

PAID TIME OFF Paid time off includes vacation, holidays, personal time and sick leave.  Full and part time employees accrue PTO per pay period based on the employee's paid hours and length of service.  Relief employees do not accrue paid time off benefits.
FUNERAL LEAVE Leave with pay, not to exceed a maximum of 24 hours, will be granted to employees in the event of a death in the immediate family.
TUITION REIMBURSEMENT  The tuition reimbursement program is designed to aid employees who wish to further their education and improve their job skills.  Full time employees may receive a maximum of $2000 reimbursement per year.  Part time employees are reimbursed on a prorated basis.
PTO SELL FOR BENEFITS Employees can sell PTO to help decrease the cost of benefits.
PTO SELL FOR CASH Eligible employees can sell up to 40 Hours of PTO for cash.
403b RETIREMENT PLAN PRINCIPAL FINANCIAL GROUP
Employer Match:  $.50 match up to 6% of base salary.  You are vested in employer contributions (match) based on a 6 year prorated standard.
CREDIT UNIONS Chessie Federal Credit Union is on site at WMHS however, direct deposit can be made to any credit union or bank of your choice.  ATMs are also available on site.
DIRECT DEPOSIT All WMHS employees are eligible for direct deposit.
