WMHS Recognized for Outstanding Cardiac Care
WMHS has received the American College of Cardiology Foundation’s NCDR ACTION Registry-GWTG Silver Performance Achievement Award for 2013 - one of only 130 hospitals nationwide to do so. This award recognizes our commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients. It signifies that WMHS has exceeded an aggressive goal of treating these patients to standard levels of care as outlined by the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association clinical guidelines and recommendations.
Kudos to everyone who makes this level of care possible, including local emergency medical service providers and the teams in the Emergency Department, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and Interventional Cardiology at WMHS. Pictured (above, from left) representing their colleagues are Karlyn Love, Cardiac Cath Lab; Doug Whitfield, Emergency Department; Pam Hetrick, Cardiac Data Analyst; Lisa lambert, Emergency Department; Andrew Brown, EMT, City of Cumberland Fire Department; Christopher Haas, D.O., Interventional Cardiologist. Back row: Robert Flint, M.D., Medical Director, Emergency Department; Scott Williams, Cardiac Cath Lab; Bill Hardy, Pre-hospital Care Coordinator; and Mike Savage, EMT, City of Cumberland Fire Department.
Calling 911 at the first signs of a heart attack can save a life thanks to their commitment to quality cardiac care.
