Dr. Douglas Tice - New Orthopedic Surgeon at WMHS
Douglas Scott Tice, M.D. has joined the WMHS Medical staff and began seeing patients on February 18. Most recently, Dr. Tice was in private practice at Weston Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center in Weston, West Virginia.
Since 2008, he’s been an associate professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Marshall University’s Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in Huntington, where he also served as section chief of General Orthopedic Surgery and vice-chief of Orthopedic Traumatology.
Previously, Dr. Tice was on staff at Hilton Head Regional Medical Center and Coastal Carolina Medical Center, both in South Carolina. He spent 7 years with WVU Physicians of Charleston, PC., and the Charleston Area Medical Center, both in the mountain state capital. For two years, Dr. Tice was chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Sheppard AFB Regional Hospital and Private Practice Orthopedic Surgeon (Active Duty Military Commitment) in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery, he received his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine and did his residency there as well. Dr. Tice completed his surgery internship at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh.
